Looking for a way to change the colors of the overlays you use in OBS?
In this quick tutorial I’ll show you how!
If you downloaded one of our Twitch overlays from our site or have an existing one you got somewhere else and wish to change its color then this guide will help you out.
You’re going to learn how to be able take an overlay that looks like this:
And change the colors to look like this (all in OBS):
Let’s begin…
STEP 1. FILTERS
Under Sources with the overlay selected that you want to change colors, right click on it and select Filters.
STEP 2. COLOR CORRECTION
A window will popup, and you’ll wanna click the + button found at the bottom left of the new window, then select Color Correction.
Alternatively you can right-click in the left side of the window, under Effect Filters, and an “Add” menu will show up with the same options.
STEP 3. HUE SHIFT
Now you’ll see a bunch of slider options show up like, Gamma, Opacity, Contrast, etc… all of these will affect how your overlay will look.
But the main slider we want to mess with is the Hue Shift option.
Dragging this slider left and right will drastically change the color of your overlay. So play around with this setting first to see if you can get the color you’re looking for.
The other sliders will also affect the color of your overlay, changing the darkness or lightness of the color, etc… so feel free to adjust those settings as well if you need.
CHANGE COLOR OF ALERTS & OTHER IMAGES
Like I mentioned at the beginning of this guide, you can use the color correction filter on any image you use in OBS.
So if you have a stream alert that you want to change the colors of then same method applies.
Just follow the same steps above for any image you’re using in OBS and you can change their colors.
